Intensive programme: A Drawing Fundamental & Portrait Course
Students who wish to gain from the structure of studio (atelier) training but are not yet ready to commit to the full-time core programme, can join this intensive drawing course. Throughout the year Intensive courses are offered to give students the opportunity to experience an overview of studio course training.
Classes are limited to four to six students per batch, and an instructor works alongside giving daily critiques. It is recommended that those with no prior experience of the drawing skill begin with our intensive drawing course. KA Fine Art Intensive courses gives students the opportunity to study each weekday/weekend over the course of several months to consistently build their artistic practice. Students will gain exposure to atelier studio training and community. We recommend students gain experience in our intensive programme and/or workshops before applying to our full-time core programme.
KA Fine Art Academy methods are structured in such a way that the student acquires deeper and deeper knowledge as they progress through the theory and practical exercises. Students will learn the foundation of drawing elements, Form, Structure, Perspective, Symmetry, Tonal relationships, Shading techniques, Rendering texture and likeness, Portrait fundamental, head anatomy, head features, scheme drawing. Throughout the year, students are taught Art history to develop their knowledge in world-class fine art.
Intensive programme: Advanced portrait & Figure drawing Course
Those who have completed the drawing fundamental intensive programme, can continue this advanced portrait & Figure drawing. We introduce methods on How to approach a portrait & Figurative subjects, How to achieve likeness, Advanced anatomical construction of the Head torso, upper limb, lower limb and How to achieve a sense of Space, Light, Form and 3D volume. Students learn the fundamentals of accurate portrait & Figure drawing from continual observation and repetition of construction exercises whilst learning to see how shapes make the character alive. With the goal of completing a finished portrait & full figure at the end of this course.
Course structure:
The course is divided into 2 Semester/Year.
The complete drawing fundamental & portrait program lasts for 1 year.
The complete advanced portrait & figure drawing program lasts for 1 year.
Entry Requirements:
Studio-based fine art study is rigorous and demanding. While there are no prerequisites for admission an ideal candidate would be self-motivated, passionate about real art and have a strong desire to learn. The application will be processed and the shortlisted candidates will have an interview - with the opportunity to visit the studio and discuss any further questions.
Minimum age 18+, Completed the High / Higher secondary school with minimum pass mark of science and math subjects.
